Birthday Party Games

Birthday parties are a very big deal for elementary school students. There are many fun activities that you can do at a birthday party and many games that you can play. Look for fun games that can get a lot of children involved.
One fun game for children’s birthday parties freeze dance. This game is very easy and only requires something that plays music. Turn on the music and let the children dance until you suddenly stop the music. The children that are still moving are out and the children who have stopped completely can continue on.
It is a lot of fun to have a sack race during an elementary school birthday party. If you have old pillowcases then you can simply use those. Party supply stores also sell sacks just for this. If you have enough kids you can also do a three legged race. Simply use a piece of rope to tie the children’s legs together.
If it is the summer birthday party then you can do a water balloon toss. The children can pair up in teams and toss a water balloon back and forth to each other from a predetermined distance. When a team drops the balloon and it breaks, they are out of the game.
Musical chairs is another very popular game for an elementary school birthday party. Put out a number of chairs that is one less than the amount of kids that you have there. Play music and when the music suddenly stops the children each need to find a chair. The child who does not have a chair is out. If you do not want the child to feel bad that they are coming out then declare that the child doesn’t get a chair is the winner of the round and give him or her a little piece of candy or his or her favor bag.
You can also play a hot potato game with a positive twist. Have the children pass around a ball, a doll or anything small. Play music and whoever has the “hot potato” when the music stops is the winner of that round and comes out to collect his or her piece of candy.
Another fun game is played with lots of balloons. Have the children try to keep them in the air. The children will have a lot of fun as they frantically try to get them all.
There are many great games that you can do for an elementary school birthday party. Try to do different games to keep it varied and interesting.
