A strapless wedding dress can be simply gorgeous. It is the choice of many brides, however it is not for everyone. Consider the following advantages and disadvantages of such a style of dress.
Advantages
Flattering on many
A lot of women like a strapless wedding dress for one simple reason. It is very flattering on a lot of people. Many women just find that they look more attractive with this sort of neckline.
Selection
You will have your choice of strapless wedding dresses at the large wedding shops. They come in inexpensive and expensive dresses. Some go straight down whereas others billow out into a ball gown style. Some are filled with sparkly Swarovski crystals whereas others have more of a quiet elegance.
Sexy
A lot of women are looking for something very sexy for their wedding gown, and a strapless wedding dress can certainly give this look. Many of them show a lot of cleavage (although not all).
Disadvantages
You may worry about it staying up
There are few things as horrifying as wondering whether your dress will come down and expose your top at your very own wedding. Although a properly fitted dress should not have this problem, still it is a concern and it has happened before. Some women would just feel more comfortable having something with straps so that they do not have to even consider the thought. Also, even if it doesn’t come completely down, it does sometimes shift a little bit.
People want something more modest
Some women would prefer something that has a little more coverage than a strapless dress. They may want something that covers their shoulders and further up on their chest. Also, some very religious institutions want a dress that is more covering. Of course, one option is to have a jacket, shrug or wrap to add to it.
The bride finds it too tight
Although you want your wedding gown to look lovely, it is also important that it is comfortable. Because you do not want the aforementioned disadvantage of it falling down, strapless wedding dresses are often made fairly tight around the torso. Some women might find this to be uncomfortable and too binding. They might be more comfortable with something a little looser.
There are many advantages and disadvantages to strapless wedding dresses. The best thing to do is to try some on to see whether you like the style. Also consider the above factors when making your decision.
