You want to get your grandpa something special to celebrate the spirit of Christmas 2010. There are so many choices, and you have to respect your budget. Consider the following ideas.
Choose something related to his likes
Think about what your grandfather likes and get him a gift related to that. For instance, if your grandpa loves the horse races, then a great Christmas gift could be a book on horses. You could get him some artwork or a picture with racehorses. If he loves sports, then perhaps you could get him some clothing such as a t-shirt related to a sports team. He might like a collectible item such as a signed baseball card or football. If he likes a certain television series or movie, then perhaps you can get him a DVD. Think about all of his likes and try to extrapolate from there.
Get him something personalized
Your grandfather might very much appreciate a Christmas gift that is made especially for him. For instance, if the gift givers are children then they can color or draw a pretty picture of them doing something special with their grandfather. They can make a craft such as a Christmas tree ornament. Someone who is a writer can write in a journal about the experiences they remember as a child with their grandfather such as the camping trips, sports games or stories. They can write a poem to him. There is no limit to what you can make if you are creative and these do not have to be expensive.
Give him an intangible Christmas gift
There are many gifts of experience that could be great for your grandfather. For instance, you can send him on the vacation of his dreams if you have the money. You can send him on a cruise. You can also do something simpler like take him out for a nice meal and take him to a great show. You can take him to a sports game that he loves. You can also consider getting him some sort of membership such as that to a zoo, museum, etc. You can even splurge for some lessons for something that he has always wanted to learn such as a musical instrument. If you are not sure then you might want to ask him first.
