Tips for Making Gifts with Childrens Art
One of the best gifts to give relatives is one that has the child’s artwork incorporated into it. Oftentimes this is more valuable to someone than the most expensive painting by the most skilled master. There are many ways that you can create a gift with such artwork. Consider the following tips.
Make sure that you let the child do the work themselves
What makes the piece special is that the child did it themselves. When an adult sees a child do a craft they sometimes want to help – only they help too much. They may know they can do it better, and of course they can, but the whole point is that is it the child’s artwork. Let them make what they want to make.
Go to the arts and craft store for ideas
You can go to a store like Michael’s Arts and Crafts for inspiration. One great idea is to buy a wooden piece and have the children paint it. They sell items like wooden boxes that someone might find useful. You can have them decorate a little stool. There are many other such items.
You can also consider clothing items. There are fabric paints and markers that children can use to make shirts and other items the person might wear.
You can also look through craft books for other ideas. You can even buy a regular product (not from a craft store) such as a pencil holder and have them paint that.
There are many other different ways to incorporate your child’s artwork into a gift. You can consider going to a place that allows your children to paint ceramics such as Color Me Mine. They have a wide variety of pieces such as mugs, plates, bathroom items and more. The children can paint them however they want, and then they are fired and can be used.
Make it personal
The person might like a gift that is more personal. For instance, if the child is giving the gift to their grandparents, perhaps they can draw a picture of them with their grandparents and then you can have that framed.
One important note – you want to make sure that whatever art materials you get are appropriate for the type of surface. If you get something that is not made for it, then it might not go on right or it might rub off later. The paints and other art items usually specify the applicable surfaces.
A gift that includes your child’s artwork can be very special. The above tips can help you when designing and creating such a present.
