When some people plan their Walt Disney World vacations in the winter, they figure that they are in for a real break from the cold. They pack nothing more than shorts and tank tops. Only when they get there and realize that it is not going to be colder that the fifties for the whole day do they realize their mistake. Someone else might think the other way and bring only heavy clothes, because it is the winter. Then they go there and it is in the seventies and they are burning up. So what do you do for such varied weather? Consider the following tips for deciding how to dress for Walt Disney World in the winter.
Look at the weather reports to get an idea of the averages for the month you are going. In many places during the winter, you are almost guaranteed to get very cold weather. In Orlando, Florida, however the winter is very varied. You can have one day that is pretty cold by many people’s standards and would require layers or a heavier jacket. On other days, it might seem like a summer day to some. You can get an idea of the range of temperatures and the general highs and lows from a website like www.weather.com. Think about what you like to wear during those temperatures and bring that.
The best thing to do is to bring a variety of clothing for your winter Walt Disney World trip. Also think about the times you will be at the parks. If you will be out after dark, then the temperature can drop significantly.
One great idea is to bring a lot of layers on your Walt Disney World trip. You can even wear shorts under your pants or bring them so you can change. You might want to wear a short sleeve shirt but then bring a jacket to wear over it. The parks have lockers that you can rent so if you do not want to carry around the extra clothing you can also store it there.
Some people will dress with a little extra to help them protect themselves from the sun. Many would find themselves comfortable with some light pants or a long sleeve shirt in the winter. You should check the weather report every day while you are there to decide what to wear. Cold fronts come in quick and can change the weather by twenty or thirty degrees in a single day.
