: Bulletin Board Ideas Save the Earth

From a very young age, children should learn about the different things that they can do in order to help save the Earth. Consider the following ideas.
Reduce, reuse, recycle bulletin board
You can use the bulletin board to teach the children about three important R’s of saving the earth. You can use both pictures and words to illustrate your points on the board, the amount of which will depend on the age and grade level of the children. In a kindergarten classroom with kids who can’t read you might use more pictures while in a fifth grade classroom you can have a lot more writing. For the reduce part, you can show pictures of kids only taking the food they want to eat at a buffet and not wasting. For the recycle you can show them putting newspapers into a recycling container. For the reuse you can show them reusing a tomato sauce jar to store something else like beads. You can also get the kids involved by having them draw pictures or write reports of things they do with these activities. You can then post these on your board.
Another neat way to get the kids involved is to have them actually act out these activities, and then take pictures of that to post on the bulletin board. For instance you can show the children throwing a used plastic water bottle into a recycling bin.
Show pictures of a variety of earth-saving activities
You can show pictures of people saving energy by riding their bicycles instead of taking cars. You can show them turning off the lights when they are not using them. You can show them using reusable fabric bags at the store instead of plastic bags. You can show them helping to clean up a beach and throwing away trash in the garbage instead of littering. You can show people making wildlife sanctuaries and protecting land against harmful development. You may want kids to be in these images so that the children can better relate.
Show pictures of the Earth
The children should know what they are saving. You can show a beautiful picture of the Earth as a whole. You can show areas that might be endangered such as rainforests that have unique combinations of life. For the older kids, you can show activities that have been detrimental to the Earth such as illegal disposing of chemicals and ways that people have tried to make it better.
The children should learn that they should start to do their part to save the Earth. Use the above ideas in a bulletin board to accomplish this.
