(447 Words)
Just because you are alone does not mean that you cannot enjoy wilderness camping. Consider the following tips for enjoying this amazing activity.
Explore the wildlife of the area
Just because you do not have any human companions does not mean that you cannot explore the life all around you. You can go on a bird watching hike and see firsthand the feathered flying creatures that inhabit the earth. You can look for specific animals or just look to see what might be out there. You can also bring your camera if you enjoy taking photos.
Relax and listen to the sounds of nature
It can be nice to listen to the sounds of nature with no one else talking or making noises. You can just lay down and hear the sounds of the animals, the waterways and the rustling of the wind through the trees and foliage. When someone else is about it might be difficult to hear these sounds that might seem so silent most of the time.
Bring your own solitary entertainment
A lot of people love to read. When you are alone in wilderness camping might be a great time to sit down with a great book. Without interruption you can read it under a canopy of trees. Others like to meditate while wilderness camping alone. If you are a writer, you might like to write. Think about what you enjoy.
Use the alone time to do some thinking and soul-searching
A lot of people enjoy some time to think about their lives. They may think clearer when they are alone in the woods while wilderness camping. They may feel like they need to get away from it all and everybody. As you gaze up into the stars that might seem to be the brightest you have ever seen you might learn a lot about yourself.
Enjoy delicious food
Just because it is just you does not mean that you cannot make some great food for yourself. Since you do not have to worry about anyone else you can make just the food that you like. You can cook it over the campfire.
Enjoy the slow time
There is no one to wake you up in the morning (except the animals and light). You can just let yourself sleep in. You can just enjoy some time without needing to worry about obligations or making someone else happy.
Go hiking
Hiking can be a great way to get some physical activity while enjoying your wilderness camping. Research the paths before you go.
Wilderness camping can be a lot of fun, even if you are above yourself. Consider the above activities when planning your trip.
