: Why it is Important to be on Time for a Wedding

It is absolutely vital to be on time for a wedding. There are quite a few reasons for this, and they include the following.
You may miss the ceremony
Many weddings start right on time. Do not assume that they will wait for guests. A wedding is a very special event that will hopefully only happen once. Many weddings are not very long and you can miss a great deal in just a few minutes. If you miss it you will not be able to get it back.
They may have to wait for you
If you are important in the wedding, such as if you are in the wedding party, then you might actually hold the entire wedding up. This is someone else’s special day and they usually only have a limited amount of time to get everything in. If the ceremony is longer then the reception may be shorter. This is one of the most memorable days in a couple’s life and they have probably spent hours preparing for it, years dreaming about it and a lot of money financing it. You do not want to cut into this day because you could not get moving on time.
You may interrupt them when you walk in
When everyone is quiet and listening to a ceremony, you may distract everyone when you walk in. The attention should be on the couple, not on a guest who shows up late. You may make noise as you open the door. You may walk in front of and disturb people as you try to make your way to your seat.
You may upset the couple and the family
A couple would have a right to be upset when a guest arrives late. Their wedding is a special day and they deserve for everything to go perfectly. They may get frustrated at you and feel that you were disrespectful. They may just hold it as a grudge or they may confront you and it can even affect your friendship in the future.
It is important to avoid being late to a wedding. Obviously there are times when nothing can be helped such as if your car breaks down on the way there, but many times tardiness is your own fault. You may want to plan to be there a little early so that you give yourself a little leeway time in case something does go wrong.
