How to Stop Sabatoging your Exercise Routine
Most people understand that exercise is good for them. You might have the perfect exercise routine all mapped out for yourself, and yet it is not as effective or efficient as you want it to be. Perhaps you cannot keep up with it or it is too easy or hard. There are different ways that you may be sabotaging your own exercise routine.
It’s too easy
One way that people sabotage their exercise routines is by making it so easy that they are not getting the exercise they really need. For instance, they may go for a slow walk and feel like they are getting cardio exercise. While any amount of physical activity is healthy, it is important to get cardio exercise in which your heart rate stays at an elevated level. Make sure that your exercise routine make sense for you and gives you the workout that will help you with your health.
It’s too hard
Another way people sabotage their exercise routine is by making it so hard that they cannot keep up with it. Just like you can make it too easy, you can also make it too difficult. Be realistic about what you can and should accomplish. Just because somebody else can do something does not mean that you should too. If you do too much, you can actually hurt yourself. You also may not stick with it because it is simply too much for you. Do not plan to exercise two hours a day if there is no way that you will actually accomplish it. You also do not need to exercise that much stay healthy.
No time in the schedule
Some people sabotage their exercise routine by not making a good time to do it. For instance, you may plan to exercise late at night, however you often have things that make it impossible for you to do so. If exercise is important, then schedule it at a time that you will actually stick to it. Also, make sure that your exercise routine has enough days and times in it. Ideally you should exercise most days of the week, at least five. If you are only planning to exercise once a week, this is not really an exercise routine.
Lack of enjoyment
You can sabotage your exercise routine by not finding something enjoyable that you will stick to. There are many different types of exercises, and although you may have trouble finding something that you love there is a good chance you will find something that you like. Try the different types of exercises to see what you like best.
It is very important to exercise. Make sure that you are not sabotaging your fitness routine with the above problems.
