2545 Words: 490
It can be hectic to visit Disney World with just adults, much less with a baby in tow. Having a baby can present new challenges, and there are different things that you will want to take into consideration when traveling through the parks with a young baby. The following are some tips for doing so.
Take advantage of the baby care center
Disney World has a baby care center. There is an easy place to change the baby’s diapers there. In addition, there is a room for nursing mothers where they can go to nurse in a comfortable air-conditioned setting (although you are obviously welcome to breastfeed around the park, as well). They also have other baby supplies and provide other amenities for those who have a small baby. There are different versions of this in the different Disney Parks.
Make sure that the baby does not get overheated
If you go during a time of the year when it is warm, which is a good deal of the year in Florida, you will want to be very careful about the baby getting overheated. Babies can be very sensitive to the elements, and just because you are okay does not mean it will be okay for the baby. If the baby is too young to wear sunscreen then you will want to be sure to keep him or her out of the shade. You might want to have him or her under an umbrella and make an effort to stand under the shade or do more of the inside, air-conditioned parts. Keep a close eye on the baby to make sure that he or she does not appear too hot. Also, be sure to keep the baby well hydrated. A very broad hat can help keep the baby’s head and neck protected. If he or she is old enough for sunscreen, you should use it, even on a cooler day. No matter what keeping him or her out of the direct sun as much as possible is a good idea.
Pay attention to the rides and shows that are appropriate, but make your own decisions
Many of the rides and shows do allow babies to attend. Certainly do not take the baby anywhere that they supposed to go. You should also make your own decision. For instance, there might be a show here they allow babies but it might be a little scary for your baby.
Give yourself plenty of time
Remember, things can take a lot more time with a baby. You may have to stop to feed the baby, give the baby breaks in the air-conditioning, let the baby take a nap and so forth. Give yourself plenty of time to do these things.
Going to Disney World with a baby can be challenging but also a lot of fun for both the parents and the baby. Consider the above tips to help you on such a vacation.
