Considerations When Choosing the Day of the Week for a Wedding

There are many considerations that you will have when choosing the day of the week to have your wedding. Many people choose to have it on a weekend, however, there is no rule that you must do this. The following are some considerations that you should explore when choosing the day of week for a wedding.
The day will dictate who can attend
In general, many people choose the weekends so that more people can attend. Many people work the typical Monday through Friday workweek, and if you have it during the weekdays, they may not be able to attend because they will be at work. It may even be an issue for your work. It might not even work if you do it at night on one of those days because oftentimes people come in from out of town and would not have the time to fly in or drive in after work. Of course, if you have some close family members that always work weekends, then the alternate might be true for you.
It might dictate how long people can stay
If people have to go to work early the next morning, they might not be able to stay very late at a wedding. Especially if they have a distance to travel home, they may not stay. Once people start leaving a wedding, sometimes other people start leaving as well.
Religious reasons
With some religions you are not supposed to get married during a certain day of the week. The Jewish religion is like this. If you are of this or another religion that has such limitations, then you might want to consider that.
The price might be a lot cheaper on certain days
One advantage to doing it on a weekday is that you might be able to save a significant amount of money. If you are having a very small wedding, if people are mostly local or if it is just what you can afford, some people may choose to have on a cheaper day. A lot of locations offer such a discount.
It might affect the time you can have it
Different days might make sense if you want the wedding to be at a certain time. For instance if you really want a day wedding, then Friday might not be great because most people are in work, but if you want an evening wedding, then Friday may work just fine and is a popular time for weddings. If you really want a late night wedding, then Sunday might not be the greatest because even though it is a weekend, people might not want to be out very late before a workday.
Consider the above points when deciding on the day of the week to plan your wedding.
