In addition, once you know that you can do it, think about how you will do it. Some companies will export things from the home country while others will have more operations in the new countries. These will vary greatly in the logistics as well as cost. Neither of the ways is always right – it will depend on the particular business and the needs of that particular company. Different business will differ into how much they actually put into the other countries. There are many different levels that you can choose to expand.
Before you decide to go global, think about the need for your business in other countries. Many ideas translate well to other cultures, but some do not. You may want to do some marketing testing strategies to see if there is the market for your business.
Think about changes you will need to make when going to other countries
Even McDonalds has made some changes in other countries. Different cultures like different things. Your product might need to be different, as might your names or branding. Think about both culture and language. One famous example showcases the pitfalls. One country tried to sell the car “Nova” in a Spanish speaking country. In Spanish, No va means “doesn’t go.” Would you want a car that was named “Doesn’t go?”
With careful planning and research, globalization can take your business to a new level. Consider the above points when deciding whether to take such a step.
