Two girls
If you have two little girls, then you will have many themes from which to choose. You can use a theme of ballerinas, for instance. Show pictures with two dancing ballerinas next to each other to represent the twins. You can have up miniature tutus and get related furnishings, such as a lamp that has ballet slippers on it. They make nursery bedding in this theme as well.
Princesses are another popular theme for little girls. You can get generic princesses or do the Disney princesses. You can also look at fairies such as Tinkerbell. In the “Secret of the Wings,” Tinkerbell meets someone she considers her sister. You can put up a picture of the two sisters.
Two boys
There are many themes that go well for two boys. For instance, you can do a sports theme. You can put up pictures of different sports teams. Look for sports-themed nursery furnishings, of which you will find many.
Boys also love all different types of transportation. You can revolve your nursery around trains. You can pick a specific train such as Thomas. Also, they might like a cars theme. Many boys like diggers and construction vehicles, and this can make a great theme for the room, too.
One of each or gender neutral
There are many gender neutral themes that can go well for a nursery for twins. One idea is to use little animals. Animals are adorable and are used for both boys and girls. You can show pictures of a litter of kittens or a litter of puppies, which would be perfect to show the love between the two twins. You can specifically look for pictures that show two animals.
You can also use a favorite character. For instance, you can decorate with a Mickey and Minnie Mouse theme. This would work especially well when you have one of each, since the girl might like Minnie and the boy Mickey. You will find many different types of bedding sets that have a Mickey Mouse theme.
You can choose from other favorite characters. For instance, you could do a Sesame Street theme or a Winnie the Pooh theme.
