Ideas to help you Make over a Teen Boys Room

As your boy grows up he is not going to want a childish room with pictures of bears and giraffes on the walls. If you are ready to give your teen son’s room a makeover, then take the following steps to make it beautiful.
First decide whether he wants a theme in his bedroom or just a grown up room with adult furniture. There are many themes that are mature enough for a teen, but which you will do differently than you would for a younger child. For instance, he might want a sports or cars theme. He might want a beach or an outdoors theme.
Now you are ready to start making the changes. You might want to change the floor, especially if he has had the same floor for a long time or if it is dirty. He might want something nice like hardwood floors. He might like carpet, which you had been afraid to put in the past because you were worried he might spill something. Now that he is older you can put it in.
Now you need to start on the walls. Take down anything that he feels is too childish. He probably does not want pictures of baby animals anymore, for instance. If he has childish wallpaper then replace it with paint or something that is mature.
Add in some pictures that reflect his hobbies and theme if you have chosen one. For instance, if he wants the same sports theme that he has always had you can make it more adult. You might take town the pictures of animals playing basketball and put up photographs of his favorite basketball players. Instead of neon squishy toy baseballs, he might want baseballs signed by his favorite players on his shelves.
Change the furniture as needed. Now that his clothing is bigger he will want more room with an adult set. If he has a childish bed or headboard then switch it for an adult one. He might prefer something modern or rustic. Add a desk if he needs more room for his homework or computer.
You can also change the lighting in the room. He might like some nice track lighting or a floor lamp. Also you can put in color changing LED lights for something interesting and fun.
Do not forget all the little odds and ends such as the curtains. Let your teen boy direct the process; you want him to be happy with it. Working together you can come up with a great new room that will last through his teenage years.
