How to Tie a Scarf

(415 Words)
There is no reason to just to wear a scarf down, plain and boring and simple. Instead you could consider a unique and fun way to tie a scarf. There are many ways from which to choose.
The bog bow
You can make a big statement by wearing a big bow in your scarf. The advantage is that this is very easy and almost everyone already knows how to do it. This can also be adapted into many different styles.
Start with the scarf around your neck with the ends hanging down across your chest. One option is to tie the bow about halfway down. This will turn it into a quasi-necklace. You could lengthen it and put the bow at the very bottom. If you like the look of a choker, then you could wear the bow right against your neck. Many women find this very flattering and it can go well with a business suit or another chic outfit.
You can also turn the scarf so that the bow is on the side of the neck. Yet another option if you want a more clean front is to have the ends of the scarf drape down your back and tie the bow in the back. Again it is up to you how low you want the bow to be. No matter where the bow is, you can also decide how big it should be. A smaller bow makes less of a statement but may be more elegant.
Draped
A scarf can seem like so much more if you wear it draped over your outfit. This is good if you have a scarf that is a little wider. Open the scarf up and let it hang fully over your front. This can add modesty to an outfit as well. Tie the ends on the shoulder in a simple double knot.
Wrapped around the neck
A fun and sophisticated way to tie a knot involves wrapping it around the neck several times. This is a very flattering look for many people and can also help keep you warm, especially with a thinner scarf. After you have wrapped it twice, bring to the front and simply loop one end over the other to keep it in place.
There are many fun ways to tie a scarf. You can see a variety of examples and pictures at websites such as The Fashion Spot. Try different methods to get a lot of versatility out of a simple scarf.
