There are many great costumes for Halloween of 2010. You may want to consider the following ideas.
President Obama and First Lady Michelle
The president and first lady are always popular in the Halloween costume department. This was popular last year and may continue to be so again this year. You can buy a costume or you can make your own by dressing in an outfit similar to what they would wear. You may also find other political costumes such as Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton. These are great for couples.
Witch
You always see many dressed in this iconic character. They make many different witch costumes, from very scary and wicked ones to sweeter characters. You can make your own with a torn up black dress and a long black hat. Carry a broom for an accessory.
Character from a popular movie
There have been many recent movies that will spurn costumes for Halloween. Avatar is a popular film, and you can purchase costumes of those characters. With the Iron Man sequel coming out, you will see both adults and children dressed as the popular hero. You are likely to see a lot of people dressed up as Edward, Jacob and Bella from Twilight.
Humorous costumes
A lot of people love to get dressed in funny costumes. You can buy a costume that makes you look like a giant banana, for instance. They have costumes where you can be a condiment such as ketchup or mustard. You can even make yourself dressed like a washing machine or toilet! A lot of people just like to do something outrageous.
Kids’ costumes
There are some kids’ costumes that are likely to be popular this year. The princess theme continues to be strong for little girls. For instance, you will see many girls dressed as the Disney characters such as Princess Tiana, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Tinkerbell and more. Other girls like to be fairies. Many boys love the superheroes such as Superman, Batman and Spiderman. You will also often see a lot of animal costumes for both genders, including little puppy dogs, kitty cats and more. You will see some kids dressed up as little ghosts with just a white sheet with two holes for eyes cut out.
Halloween of 2010 is sure to be a fun holiday, with many classic and new costumes. The above costumes are some you may see this year.
