There are many difficult jobs in the United States of America. Some of them are physically difficult while others are mentally difficult. The following are some of the hardest jobs you will find.
Doctor
For a number of reasons, doctors have one of the hardest jobs out there. To begin with, they must learn so much about the human body in order to be able to successfully practice medicine. Just going through the schooling and passing exams to become a doctor is a great challenge. Even if you are a specialist, usually you have completed medical school with everything about the body in its entirety. Because one part of the body affects another it is important for all doctors to have knowledge about the different parts of the body.
There are so many different diseases, conditions and ailments that afflict people, many of which are very similar. In addition, there are many different courses of treatment for these ailments. There are new things coming out all the time. A doctor much keep abreast of all of these things. They must be able to correctly diagnose issues and prescribe the correct course of treatment. The lives of people literally are in their hands. Surgeons will perform delicate operations that will often tell the fate of the person.
In addition to the challenge of being able to successfully work as a doctor, you must also be able to deal with the emotional issues that come up. This is especially true if you are dealing with life threatening issues such as if you work in an emergency room. For all of these reasons being a doctor is a very difficult position.
Police officer
It can be quite the challenge to be a police officer. Even if a lot of the job is not hard, it is not easy if you are involved in a car chase or chasing down a homicide. Police officers put their lives at risk and must deal with the mental and physical issues from this position.
Professional athlete
First, it is extremely hard to even get this position. Then it can be very difficult to perform well. You are playing against the top athletes in the world in many cases. It can affect you both mentally and physically.
Fire-fighter
It can be very hard to run into burning building and carry people out. Physically they must often do very difficult things. It is also very frightening and emotional if something goes wrong. The bob of a fireman is anything but easy.
