It can be quite the challenge to run a small business while studying. Each can be a challenge of major proportions in its own right, and of course you want to succeed at both. There are different things that you can do in order to help yourself achieve both. The following are some tips on how to run a small business while studying.
Make time for each
You will want to figure out certain times to dedicate to each of these major projects. You do not want to spend all of your time on one and then let the other get neglected. What you first need to do is estimate the time you will need for each one. Obviously this can fluctuate day to day and the actual amount might be different than your estimate, but it will at least give you an idea. Next you can figure out when you want to dedicate to each of these. You might want to make a schedule. You can make a static schedule if things pretty much stay the same, make one for a week or just make one day by day. No matter what, make sure you give enough time for everything that you need to do. Try to prioritize the items that are of more importance, of course.
Take away distractions
When you are working on one, try to minimize other distractions. Unless it works well that you can multitask and do both at once, you might want to just focus on the one thing. You do not want to be less efficient because you are worrying about something else when you are supposed to be focused on one of them. You also might want to consider ignoring things like phone calls and e-mails (unless they are very important) to help keep yourself on track.
Keep yourself organized
It is very important to keep yourself organized since you are juggling so many things. There are many computer programs that can help you keep track of things. An organizer might help you as well. Whatever your system of organization, try to keep track of what you need to do and when. Keep good records and write things down so that you do not forget.
