60 Words: 9 Tips for Shopping for Clearance Holiday Items after Hanukkah

2199 Words: 403
Many stores with a Hanukkah selection such as Target and Bed, Bath and Beyond offer clearance after the holiday. You can often save a lot of money on such items, especially because these items are sometimes pricey and far more difficult to find than Christmas items. There are different things you will want to take into consideration when shopping clearance after Hanukkah. The following are some tips for doing so.
Shop quickly after the holiday for the best selection
Once the items go on clearance, they may go quickly. Because you do not find such a great Hanukkah selection to begin with, many people snap up the remaining items as quickly as they can. You might be able to save money if you wait a little while, just be aware that many of the items might be gone at that point. You may want to ask the stores when they start their Hanukkah clearance. Some places will do it right after the first day. Others will wait until after the eight days of Hanukkah are over. A few stores will even wait until Christmas is over (which usually falls after Hanukkah).
Not all items go on clearance
Not all Hanukkah items go on clearance. Sometimes the items are in such demand that they just keep them at regular prices. Other times the wholesalers will take them back to save. Make sure that you check to see that an item is on clearance before you purchase it.
Make sure that you have room to store the items
In general, most people buy items to store for other times. Make sure that you have the room before you buy. They will not be good if you come home and find that you have absolutely no place to put the items.
Look for items that can be used at times other than Hanukkah
Some items will be able to be used at times other than Hanukkah, which will increase their usefulness. For instance, a lot of the Hanukkah items just have a Star of David on them. These may be great for other Jewish holidays as well such as Passover or Rosh Hashanah. Also, they might be pieces that you can just display or keep out all year round.
You can save a lot of money by purchasing Hanukkah items when they are on clearance after the holiday. Consider the above tips when making your selection.
