A lot of people love to garden. If you have a gardener on your 2010 Christmas gift list, then you may decide on a related present. You will find many appropriate items at nurseries and stores with a garden section such as Target.
Plants
Of course the most obvious gift for a gardener is a plant. You will have endless options with this, and you will want to carefully consider a few things before making your choice. Make sure that it is something that would fit in with the person’s garden. Also make sure that it is meant to go in the climate. Some plants take more work than others – you should be sure that they would be willing to spend the time to take care of that particular plant. Think about how big it grows. You can get one big plant or a variety of smaller plants. You can also get seeds. Alternatively you can tell your loved one of your intention and go with him or her to a nursery so that he or she can pick out exactly the plants that she wants. You can also give a gift certificate to a nursery, mail order catalog or other place that sells seeds and plants.
Gardening tools
A gardener might like some new tools for Christmas of 2010. There are many different items that a gardener needs such as a hoe, shovel, hose, etc. Sometimes they sell special versions of these such as a hose that coils itself up. If the gardener’s tools are worn or if there is something new or innovative that you think that she or he would like, then you can purchase that.
Books
There are many different books on gardening. Some of them deal with planting particular plants whereas others have a broader focus. Think about the exact area of specialty the gardener has as well as how experienced he or she is.
Calendar with scenes of flowers and nature
A gardener might like a nice calendar for the upcoming 2011 year. They sell many that have pictures of beautiful landscapes with flowers.
Sign for the garden
You can get a pretty sign made for the garden. It may say the name of the person whose it is. You could also buy him or her a little statue or figure for his or her garden. They may also like some nice lighting such as solar lighting.
