When it comes time to do your mall shopping for Christmas 2010, you are going to want to save all the money that you can. You will find many different money saving strategies, including the following.
Look for special sale days and weekends
As the holiday approaches, you will find many days where the sales are absolutely excellent. Retailers count on this season in order to give them a lot of their sales, and they are often willing to slash prices to get the volume they desire. One of the best days to go shopping is on Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. The malls will be packed, but you might get the best deals of the year on this single day. Also, in addition to the deals the individual stores might offer, sometimes malls will offer deals as a whole. For instance, the Pembroke Lakes Mall in Pembroke Pines, Florida, will often have an offer where if you spend a certain amount at the mall on Black Friday, you will get a mall gift certificate. Other malls have similar promotions.
Look for the less expensive stores
If you want to save money when Christmas shopping at the mall, then you might want to consider shopping at the less expensive stores. Shopping at a less expensive store does not necessarily mean that you will be getting something of lower quality. Some stores just charge more while others charge less. You should peruse at the different stores to get an idea of the basic offerings of each.
Do not get the first things you see
Impulse buying can lead to you spending more money. Before you make your Christmas purchases, you might want to look at some more stores. You might find just as nice a gift somewhere else for less money.
Bring coupons
Different mall stores will offer different coupons at this time of year. You will find this with a lot of the big department stores such as J.C. Penney and Macy’s. You might want to look in the Sunday ads before you go out to see what might be available. Sometimes the coupons are significant, giving you a dollar amount or a percentage off.
Navigating the mall during the Christmas 2010 season can be treacherous and if you are not careful you can definitely spend more than you want. Consider the above tips to help you save on these purchases.
