It is your baby’s first Christmas and you want to give him or her something very special. There are many great gifts that are very popular right now for children under twelve months. Of course the first thing you want to do is to look at the packaging or label to make sure that is appropriate for an infant. Many toys that look like they would be safe actually aren’t, and you want to be sure. Consider the following ideas.
Doll
A lot of people like to get a soft doll that their baby can cuddle up with. They have many baby dolls that are made for this age group. You can get a doll that is a teddy bear. Ty makes a lot of cute ones as does the company Aurora. Many of them have other cute features such as a rattle in them. You could get a Hasbro Playskool Lullaby Gloworm, which plays music and lights up.
Taggies
Taggies products are built on the idea that some babies seem to love playing with the tags more than the other aspects of the toys. These dolls and toys have small and colorful tags sewn all over them. A very cute one is the Taggies Grabby Elephant Toy. They also make a Taggies Ring Ring Telephone and Taggies Soft Developmental Animal, Blue Lion.
Blocks
A lot of babies love little blocks. You will find many different versions (although many are made for older children so make sure that they are not so small so as to be a choking hazard). You can get wooden blocks or soft blocks.
Mirror toy
A lot of little infants love to look at themselves. They make a variety of products that have soft mirrors (obviously do not give a baby a hard mirror meant for adults)
Ball
They may not be able to play catch with you yet, but many babies already love balls. They make some very soft ones that the baby can walk around with. Many of them make other noises such as crinkle sounds.
Car
A lot of little babies love miniature cars. Most matchbox ones are too little, but they make some special ones for this age group. They may enjoy watching it as you make it speed along.
Musical toy
Many kids love to hear music, and you will find many toys that have this theme. Some play classical music.
You will find many options at the store when shopping for your infant under a year for Christmas. All babies are different, so it can be difficult to tell exactly what your child will like. The above gifts are some of the more popular ones.
