Directions and Rules on how to Play Bunco

Bunco is a fun game for children and adults alike. It is commonly the focus of adult Bunco parties or weekly get-togethers. It is a relatively easy game and can typically be taught to players in a matter of a few minutes. The following rules come from the World Bunco Association and cover a game with 12 people.
First gather everything you need. You should have three tables that can each accommodate four people. One is the head table, another the middle and another the losing. Place three dice, a pair of pencils and a pair of scratch pads on each table. Each person should also have a score sheet. There will be one bell, which remains at the head table and a traveling die that is fuzzy. This will start at the head table but will move around to whoever has the latest Bunco.
When passing out the score sheet, make four that have stars on them. These people will get to start at the head table. Everyone else will randomly sit at the tables. For each round, you will be a team with the person across from you.
Someone at the head table rings the bell. At each table one person will roll the three dice. In the first round the goal is to get 1’s. When you get one, you get one point and when you get two you get two points. If you get three, then that is a Bunco and you get 21 points and the fuzzy die is passed to you. If you get three of another number then you get five points. You will keep rolling until you do not get a 1.
Keep track of the score at each table. Also, each person will personally keep track of the amount of Bunco’s he or she gets. When your turn is over the next person to the left gets to roll.
When a team at the head table either gets Bunco or reaches 21, the bell rings and the round is over. Each table will tally the points to see which team is the winner and each person records whether they won or lost.
The players are then rearranged. The winning team at the head table stays there but one will change seats so that each will have a different partner next time. The winning team from both the middle and losing table moves up. The losing team from the losing table stays there, but one switches seats. The losing team from the head table goes back to the middle and the losing team from the middle goes back to the losing table.
Another round occurs, only this time the object is to get 2’s. This will continue for as many rounds as the players want to play. When the game is over, prizes are given out. These may include prizes for the most wins, the most Bunco’s, the person who has the fuzzy die, the person who won half and lost half, the person with the most losses and a door prize drawing for whoever doesn’t qualify for a prize.
Bunco is an extremely fun game. It is also easily adaptable to play with many more players, as long as the number is divisible by four. Many people have weekly get-togethers for this enjoyable game.
