Inflatable furniture
If you do not have a lot of money to spend and want something that can be easily stored away, then consider inflatable furniture. It is exactly what it sounds like, sort of like a big beach ball in the shape of a couch. They make chairs and other sorts of furniture as well. These can look funky and be just right for the budget.
Loft
A loft can be a very practical thing for a dorm room, where space is probably an issue. You can have your bed up high and utilize the space underneath it. You can have a desk or drawers underneath it. Of course, make sure that you get one that is very sturdy so that you do not have a problem.
Bean bag chairs
You might just want to plop down in a bean bag chair after that big test. These can be comfortable and you can store it on your bed when not in use. They make these of all different sizes and with different colors and styles.
Hammock
If your dorm room is relatively big, then you might be able to fit a fun hammock in it. This can be a great place to relax as you do your homework or study for an exam. You can tie it to something in the room or many of them already come with poles to help it stay up on its own.
Rocker/recliner
The dorm chairs and beds are often not the most comfortable in the world. You might want something very cozy that you can squeeze into with a good book on a cold winter night. They sell many different types and you can get one for all of the roommates to share. You can get a double recliner if you have the room to spare.
Cardboard boxes
Some people that are really short of money might even use cardboard boxes as their dorm room furniture! For instance, you can easily make a small table by turning a very sturdy one upside down. These can be great for storage furniture as well.
There are many ways that you can make do with dorm room furniture. Use your creativity to come up with something that fits and is within your budget. Consider the above fun ideas.
