Cardio exercise provide numerous benefits that are excellent for your heart health. There are many different pieces of equipment geared toward providing this type of fitness. These allow the users to get their heart rate up to their personal target and keep it there for a sustained period of time. Consider the following pieces of equipment.
Exercise bike
Exercise bikes are very useful in providing a great cardio workout. Unlike their real world counterparts, you do not need to worry about running into anything. There are many different exercise bikes on the market today. Some of them are recumbent and have a full seat that you sit in and then you exercise your legs. Other bicycles are upright and more simulate a real bicycle. Both of these can give you a good workout.
Different exercise bicycles have different features. Most of them allow you to adjust the level of difficulty of pedaling. Some people like to make this easier and pedal faster whereas other like to have a higher level of difficulty and pedal slower. Both can raise your heart rate. More advanced bicycles offer other features such as having programs, a fan, a heart rate monitor and more.
Treadmill
Treadmills have been a favorite for years. As you jog, you can usually raise your heart rate to an acceptable level. Some people may be able to raise it with power walking, but you will need to monitor your heart rate to be sure that it is high enough. Different treadmills have different options to make a cardio workout easier or more productive. Most will have different speeds that you can go along, but some will have a greater range. Some of them will have an incline so that it seems like you are going uphill. Some of them will have programs in them so that they will change the speed and/or incline themselves to give you a full workout. Others will monitor your heart rate, calories, distance and more.
Stairmaster
A Stairmaster can simulate the experience of walking up stairs. This can get you heart rate up rapidly and can be a good option for those interested in cardio fitness.
Before you start any cardio program be sure to make sure you are medically able to do so. Also, different exercises place stress on joints such as knees so make sure that you are comfortable in whatever you are doing. Try one or a combination of the above exercise machines to make a great cardio routine.
