The question that may pressing on your mind is what to get your 12 or 13 year old boy. A boy this age is usually in middle school. He probably has outgrown toys and yet may or may not be into more adult items. He may like one of the following gifts.
Sports-related gift
A lot of 12 and 13 year old boys are very much into sports. There are many gifts that fall into this category, and they range greatly in price. You could get him a t-shirt with his favorite football team’s logo, for instance. You could get him a baseball cap with his favorite baseball team.
Many 12 and 13 year old boys like to play sports. You could get him a ball such as a basketball, football or baseball. You could get him a soccer net or a basketball hoop. Think about the sports that he would enjoy.
You could also give him some sort of gift of experience that is related to sports. He may like it if you took him to a sports game, for instance. Which game you gift will depend on what time of year it is and what local teams are near you. You could take him out to the game, get some fun snacks, buy him souvenirs and give him something to remember for a long time. Alternatively you could help him to play sports himself. You could sign him up to join some sort of sports team or lessons. Of course make sure that he would want such a gift before making the purchase.
Video games
A lot of 12 and 13 year old boys love to play video games. You could get him a game console such as the Nintendo Wii. You could get him something portable that he could take with him like the Nintendo DS. If he has one of these (or another) game system, then you could get him some games for it.
Cell phone/smart phone
If he does not already have a cell phone, then he would probably love one. Many boys get phones at about this age, so he may want to feel like he is not the only one who does not have one. If you want to spend a little more, you could get him a smartphone so that he could surf the Internet. Remember that you will have to pay for a service contract so be sure you are willing to commit to that.
It is often difficult for 12 and 13 year old boys to earn money on their own since many stores will not hire someone until they are in high school. He may like some money that he can spend as he pleases. You could also get him a gift card to a store he frequents. Try those or one of the above ideas for him.
