How to Choose the right Bed Size

(346 Words)
The popular bed sizes in the United States are twin, full (double) queen and king. Each has its advantages and disadvantages, and you will want to weigh several factors when determining the right size for you.
Money
With everything being equal you will pay more for a larger bed. Sometimes the furniture is the same for a full and queen bed (it can adjust between the two) and you will only pay more for the mattress, although that is often very close between these two sizes as well. The prices between the others sizes can vary dramatically so consider your budget and preferences.
Quality and material and have an impact on a great range in the price of a bed. Some people may choose to get lower quality to have a bigger bed; others would rather get something smaller that they like better. Remember that the cost can extend to other items such as sheets and comforters, which also tend to cost more in larger sizes.
Space in the room
Consider your space. Many rooms simply cannot fit a king-size bed, and some are meant for a twin. Remember that you will want room for other items — and be able to walk around.
How big is comfortable?
Some people like a big bed. It may be just them in the bed and they may weigh all of 100 pounds but they may want that king-size bed. Other people like to stretch out. Many couples want extra room, and some have kids crawl in with them at night. Other people really do not feel like they need the extra space of a large bed.
When you shop for a bed, all of the above factors should be considered. Obviously there are tradeoffs — a king-size bed costs more, takes up more room but offers more space. A twin bed takes up just a little room and is cheaper but you may not be able to stretch out as much. Many people compromise with a queen-size bed. Try out the beds and consider your space before making a decision.
