How to Extend a little Girls Summer Wardrobe through the Winter

Many people do not want to purchase an entire new wardrobe for their little girl when the winter comes. However, in most areas of the country, she will need warmer clothing, so what are you to do? The following tips can help you extend a little girl’s summer wardrobe through the coldest season.
Layer your little girl’s clothing
Layering can help provide the warmth that your child needs with her summer clothing. For instance, perhaps you have some leggings and another pair of light pants that your child wears during the summer. Alone each would be far too light to wear during the winter. Instead you can have her put on the leggings first and then the pants on top of them. You can layer with clothing for all different parts of the body. You can put several shirts on top of each other as well as layer light summer jackets.
You may be able to also transform your little girl’s outfits slightly in order to be appropriate for the winter. For instance, let’s say she has lots of short sleeve shirts, but you do not want to put her in any of them when it is cold. You can get a little material and add it to the sleeves to make long sleeves. You can also take an older long sleeve shirt that does not fit in the torso and cut the sleeves out to put into the newer shirt. You can do this with a short sleeve dress too. You can also add a lining to clothing as well to make it heavier and appropriate for the winter. You can use whatever heavy fabric as you want like flannel to line the clothing. You can line the entire garment or just parts.
There is a good chance that you will need to buy some pieces to make a little girl’s summer wardrobe complete for the winter. However if you use your summer clothing too, then you may not have to buy as much. For instance, if you figure that you will have her wear her summer dresses, then you may just need to buy some pants that can fit under them and she can wear a jacket over them.
