: How to Lose Weight before your Wedding
:
(501 Words)
Your wedding is coming up and you want to look fabulous in that wedding gown or tux. There are different things that you can do in order to lose weight for this all important day. Consider the following strategies.
First set some goals
Before you start to lose weight you want to know where you want to be. Be realistic. You are unlikely to lose ten pounds a week and that would not be healthy anyways. Most people can do one or two pounds a week. Try to start early enough so that you can reach your goals before your wedding.
Lose weight by eating better
A lot of people lose weight by eating better. First you will want to eliminate as much as possible unhealthy foods. This includes desserts such as cakes, ice cream, pies, brownies, candy and more. If you have trouble eliminating all of it, then allow yourself a tiny (and truly tiny) piece so that you do not crave it. You should try to eat in moderation. Do not overstuff yourself. You do not have to eat everything on your plate, especially since the portions served in many restaurants now are far too large than you should really eat in one sitting. Many meals at fast food restaurants have an entire day’s worth of calories! When you get the meal, put half of it away in a to-go container right away so that you are not tempted. Try to eat less fatty foods like cheese, cream-based meals, fried foods and red meats. Switch to leaner foods.
A lot of people are munchers. If you want to shed those pounds for the wedding, then you can continue to munch but you may need to munch on different things. For instance, you can sit there with some vegetables like lettuce, celery, broccoli, carrots and munch away without gaining a lot of weight. For a snack have an apple, banana or yogurt instead of greasy fries of chips.
You may also be consuming a lot of calories through drink. As the day of your wedding approaches start to have calorie free drinks like water. Go diet with the sodas. If you like the taste of juice or alcohol then consider watering it down.
Be more active
Exercise can help you look more tone and fit for your wedding day. Even half an hour a day can do wonders. You can try to find an aerobic exercise you like such as jogging, the treadmill, exercise bike, stairmaster, aerobics class, etc. Also, you should just be more active in general. Take walks. Take the stairs instead of the elevator.
Some people choose to go on a diet program before their wedding and some like Weight Watchers can be very good. Others are fad diets. Also, few diet supplements work and some can be dangerous for your health. Don’t get pulled in by too-good-to-be-true advertising. By eating better and exercising you can lose weight to look great when you walk down the aisle.
