A romantic getaway can be just the thing to spice up your relationship and give you a break from the rigors of everyday life. Consider the following tips for planning such a trip.
Make a budget
You want to know how much you have to spend on this last minute getaway because that will dictate what you can afford to do and what might be out of reach. Oftentimes last minute things are more expensive because the cheapest fares have sold out. Sometimes, however, different hotels and other vacation-related businesses have open availability and will give special deals for last minute travelers.
Consider where you want to go
You will want to choose this carefully. What is romantic to one couple may be different for another couple. You might want to think about what has special meaning to your relationship. For instance, perhaps you went on a camping trip to a park early in your relationship, and that had special meaning to you. Perhaps you could go on a weekend trip to the place where you had your honeymoon if you are close enough. Many people will have to choose somewhere that they can drive to since it can be difficult and expensive to get flights at the last minute. There are a lot of places that are also just romantic destinations. Think of somewhere where you can spend romantic time together. You do not want to get to the hotel only to find that it is sold out. Look around at the different hotels, looking for last minute deals. At the last minute, there will be a wide range of prices. You can also look at a website like www.tripadvisor.com, which allows you to see the prices for different hotels in the same place, which can give you an idea of what you might be able to afford. There are also magazines like Roomsaver, which has many great coupons, many of which you can’t even use in advance although you might want to call to see if they have availability. Get your transportation set and look for any tickets you need. You can go to AAA, which might help you make your plans. Look for coupons in newspapers or online that might be able to help. Get everything packed, thinking about what you might need while you are away. Make sure to bring any fancy outfits for romantic dinners you have planned.
