How to Save Money on Baby Clothing

If you have a new baby, you are probably looking to save money any way you can. Consider the following strategies to save on baby clothing.
Look at the less expensive places
It is amazing what some people charge for baby clothes. One might think that they are spun of gold. When looking for baby clothing, you might want to scout out the different stores. You will often be able to get very similar or even the same items for far cheaper at the lower priced stores. Wholesale clubs like Costco and discount stores like Ross will often save you a great deal of money.
Look for pre-owned items
You can save a lot of money by buying baby clothing that is pre-owned. With infant clothes, the babies wear them for such a short period of time that they may have only been worn a handful of times. Some people get so much clothes as presents that they have unworn clothing to get rid of when they are done. You will find a lot of baby clothing at consignment shops. These are usually screened for quality and many times they are in like new or excellent condition. Also, you can consider looking online at a website such as www.ebay.com. Some mothers will even sell big lots of baby clothing, and you may get an unbelievable per piece deal. You can look at garage sales as well. If you are part of a mom’s club and someone has an older child, then they may sell (or give!) you baby clothes for reasonable prices.
Look for sales
You will find great sales at many of the stores. Sometimes you can even save on half of the cost of an item when they go on sale. Sears has a lot of great sales on this type of clothing. Also, another great way to save is to look on clearance. Stores like Target will mark down baby clothing up to 90% at times. The stores will often have specific clearance racks that you can peruse. Also, some stores will have coupons. Stores like J.C. Penney offer these and you will often get a discount based on the amount you spend.
With the cost you are going to incur with the baby over the next 18 years, you are going to want to start saving money now. Consider the above tips to help you save on baby clothing.
