There are many great Boy Scout activities for children of different ages. The kids may have fun with the following ideas.
Camping
Camping is one of the hallmarks of the Boy Scouts. The boys can learn about independence and survival while having fun in beautiful nature. They can go on hikes, cook around a campfire, tell stories and enjoy all of the benefits of camping. They can learn about pitching a tent, fires and many other useful skills.
Sports Day
Many boys love to play sports. You can incorporate it into your activities in many different ways. It can be an entire day where you play all different types of sports such as football or baseball. You can just make a specific game such as a soccer game. You can also have different fun challenges such as races or tug-of-war. You can also go somewhere that offers a sporting game such as mini-golf.
Local attraction
Many cities have local attractions, which can provide fun activities for Boy Scouts. For instance, you may live near a zoo, which might be especially nice for younger boys. You may be near an aquarium or a science museum. Scope out what attractions are nearby to see what is finally and logistically plausible for your group.
There are also many festivals and fairs in different towns around the country. For instance, if the county fair is in town, then this may be fun for the boys.
Roller skating/ice skating
If you live near a rink of some sort, then this can make a great activity for a Boy Scout troop. Many of these boys like to be active, and this can be a unique way to do so.
Astronomy
Many boys like science, and they may like an astronomy activity. You can take them to a planetarium or just set up a telescope so that they can look at the stars. You may want to schedule this around some sort of celestial event if possible.
Movie night
Many boys enjoy the movies. You will have many from which to choose and you can pick something that is fun for the boys but contains a lesson as well. Of course make sure that it is age appropriate.
Seasonal activities
There are many great activities related to the season. If it is the summer and you have the proper supervision, then you can plan a pool party for the boys. During the fall you can go to a pumpkin patch.
