Homemade baked item
If you want to spend the time, then you can make your neighbors their holiday gift. They may appreciate something more if they know that you put time and effort into it. You could make some home baked cookies, fresh brownies or a pie. It may be a delicious secret family recipe. The ingredients to these items are usually not too expensive, but this can make a nice gift.
Picture frame
A picture frame can make for both a nice and useful gift. You can get them one with a theme if you know of something they would like. For instance, if they have small children, you can get them one that has a juvenile theme.
