Inexpensive Ways to Decorate a Baby Boys Nursery
You want your baby boy’s nursery to be a special place for your little man. You may want a designer look without a designer price. Consider the following ideas.
Paint the walls with stencils
A great way to decorate the room is by having a mural. It could be of sports balls, trains, planes, cars, astronomy or whatever other theme you want. If you have such talent then you can draw freehand, but even if you don’t you can still get that hand-painted look by using stencils. A variety of these are available and they can turn out very nice. Also, you can consider purchasing “stick-ons.” These are like stickers that stick to the wall but many come off without permanent damage. They are bright, colorful and come in different themes.
Purchase inexpensive linens
A lot of how a baby boy’s room looks will be dictated by the linens and accessories such as valences. You can save money by buying these at less expensive places like Anna’s Linens. You can also look for sales, coupons and clearance.
Use brightly colored blankets to decorate the walls
Large artwork can be expensive. Instead of using this, you can hang up some of the baby blankets. You may be given a variety of these or something handmade. For instance, if someone gave you a quilt, then this can make a beautiful decoration.
Have other members of the family make crafts to decorate the baby’s room
If you have other children then you can enlist their help to make some crafts that can be fitting and meaningful decorations for your baby boy’s nursery. For instance, many babies like to look at mobiles but these can be expensive. You can have the children take wire hangers and get some string to hang different things for the baby to look at. For instance, they can use paper to make pictures of sports balls and then make a mobile from that. You can have the kids each paint a wooden letter of the baby’s name and hang this on the wall. If you sew you can also make him a needlepoint.
Print out quotes and poems
You might want your little boy to know how much you love him. You can write him a poem, print it out and put it in a frame from the dollar store to decorate with. You can print out special signs such as “Mommy’s Little Boy” and “Reach for the Stars!” or even just paint these out on inexpensive wooden plaques you buy from craft stores.
Your baby boy’s nursery can should a fitting realm for your little prince. Try the above ideas to decorate with little money but a lot of love.
