All businesses want to change consumers into customers to increase sales and maximize profits. Every company will have a certain number of potential consumers who may purchase their products and services. There are a variety of things that they can do, which will make the sales happen for them.

Consumers cannot become customers unless they know that you are in business. You need to get your name out there through different marketing campaigns and strategies. There is no one successful recipe for marketing because it will depend on your industry, the marketing budget, your audience and more.
The first step is understanding your potential audience. In other words, who would be interested in purchasing your products or services? You should conducting marketing research if you are not certain of this with strategies such as focus groups, surveys, etc.

The Internet is a great option for getting out to consumers. You can make a website to promote your product. Use social networking websites such as Facebook to promote your products and get in touch with consumers. Use twitter and YouTube. Hopefully all of these marketing measures will alert consumers of your existence and get their business.
Make a product that people love
You want consumers to see your product or service and feel like they must get it. Try to do something original. Look for what is in demand or come up with a new spin.
Make it easy to buy
You want the consumers to easily be able to buy from you. For instance, you can allow them to make purchases over the Internet (depending on what you are selling). This may be something that consumers can quickly do.
Provide incentives
People love a great deal. You can send out coupons. Run sales. Run contests for customers. All of these things might draw in people and make them want to purchase.
Provide great customer service
People like to buy from a company that cares about them. Act like you care. If you make a mistake, then take the steps to make it right. Make the time for your consumers and hopefully they will want to be associated with you.
It is important for a business to constantly keep track of its different actions such as advertising, branding, etc. so that they will know what is effective and what is not. They should try new strategies and make an effort to repeat successful ones. With careful planning and hard work, they will then transform consumers into the customers that can make their business.
