School Field Trip Ideas at Walt Disney World Epcot Center

Walt Disney World Epcot Center provides many educational opportunities for students of all ages. Every year, thousands of students take trips there, and there are ways that you can increase the educational benefit from this trip. Consider the following ideas.
Study a country
Walt Disney World Epcot Center offers the World Showcase, an exhibit with a variety of different countries. Countries include France, China, Japan, Mexico, Norway, and more. Buildings are made to look like the buildings in the “countries.” The people who work there are really from the country, and most offer authentic food and souvenirs. They have different rides, attractions and exhibits to showcase their country. For instance, Mexico and Norway have a boat ride, and Canada has a 360 degree movie.
Take advantage of these countries when taking your children on a field trip. You can assign each child (or groups) to one of the countries. They can take down information such as the type of food, the type of dress, buildings and other characteristics of the country. When they get back to school they can write a report and do a presentation on it. Younger children may just be asked to draw some of the things that they saw in the particular country.
Future inventions
Walt Disney World Epcot Center explores many inventions that have taken place in the past as well as potential ones of the future. While visiting Epcot during a trip, the children can try their hand at their own inventions. You can ask them to take something they learned on their trip and come up with an idea for the future that may or may not be yet possible.
The Oceans
The Living Seas is a large exhibit in Epcot Center that celebrates the creatures of the ocean. You can ask the children to draw pictures of the sea life that they see. Older kids can write a report about one specific creature.
Scavenger hunt
Walt Disney World Epcot Center has so many educational places within it. You may want your children to recognize these. You can give them each a piece of paper as part of a scavenger hunt. For instance, ask that they find the country that serves burritos. Ask them to name the exhibit with sea life. Doing a scavenger hunt may help them pay more attention while on the field trip.
A trip to Walt Disney World Epcot Center can be not only fun for children but educational as well. Try different strategies to let them learn while they see the sights.
