:
(402 Words)
A great way to do something special for your father for Father’s Day is to make a special art project. There are many great art projects, and what you choose will depend on the age of the students. Consider the following ideas.
Decorate a tie for your father
You might want to let the kids decorate a tie for their dads. You can get some plain colored ties and then fabric paints and markers. They can draw pictures or write messages like “I love you dad.” Alternatively you can have them decorate another type of clothing item or accessory such as a hat or a t-shirt.
Draw or paint a picture doing something special with their father
The children can do an easy art project by coloring a picture of them doing something special with their father or of a special memory that they have. Perhaps they love going with their dad to a baseball game or they enjoy playing board games with him. It can be as simple as letting them color with crayons or you can have them paint something. They can even make a multimedia art project by adding in other embellishments like crystals, beads, and other little items.
Decorate a picture frame
The dads might love a picture frame that is decorated by their child with the child’s picture in it. You can buy simple picture frames from a craft store or you can have the children make their own out of items like popsicle sticks and glue. You can then have the children decorate them with different items as described above. Of course make sure that you only use markers or paints that are made for wood or whatever material it is made out of so it does not come off easily. The children can draw pictures of things like hearts for their father. They can also write something special such as how they love their father or Happy Father’s Day. When they have finished you can either put in a picture of the child by himself or herself or you can put in a picture of the child with the father. Make sure that it has some way to either stand or a hook so that it can be hung up.
There are many great art projects that students can do for their father to celebrate Father’s Day. Consider the above ideas when planning your lessons.
