It is very important to teach children to enjoy life. For most parents, one of the most important things is for their children to be happy. This is not a skill that comes naturally to every person. Some children might need to actually be taught how to look at the positive things in life. Your teaching may go a long way in providing this.
Many children are very busy with a lot of different things. They may go from one activity to the next, but not really stop to think about the enjoyment of life. Because it is not something that is necessarily focused on, you want to do that for them.
If a person is not accustomed to enjoying life, it can be much difficult for them to start to do so when they are older. They may just be used to looking on the bad side of things or just rushing around with other goals. When you teach them when they are children, they might have a much easier time of keeping it up. They may then just adopt this as the way to be and continue it into adulthood.
When your child enjoys life they may enjoy a better life in other ways as well. People who are happy will often do better in jobs. They are often healthier physically and mentally since stress can have so many negative effects. They may have more friends because others like to be around positive people. They may find a similar mate, and enjoy life together. They will also then teach these skills to their own children so the cycle can continue. If they are, on the other hand, not used to enjoying life then they may find that they struggle more through life in all of these areas.
Many children may not even realize how important it is to enjoy life. Some kids may feel that you want them to be productive more than enjoy their life. Of course it is important to be productive, do well in school and excel in other ways, but enjoying life is just as important a goal, and for some more so. You want your children to understand that this is something that they should strive for.
Most parents want for their children to be happy. It is up to you to teach them to enjoy life. It can also provide some happy times for you together. Also, you may find that you enjoy life more in teaching them.
