(431 Words)
Walt Disney World Epcot Center offers many educational exhibits for homeschoolers. There are various activities that you can create for them when taking an educational trip to this fun theme park in Florida.
A large portion of Walt Disney World Epcot Center is the World Showcase. This exhibit has exhibits from many countries of the world, including China, Japan, Mexico, Canada, Norway, France and Italy. You can incorporate different activities to help the children learn while they are there. For instance, let the kids bring a notebook and a pencil. You can write out questions about the specific countries that they must answer while they are there.
In these countries, there are shows, attractions and exhibits that teach about the country. The people who work there are from the actual countries, and most also serve authentic food. Some of the questions you ask the children can revolve around these. For instance, you can ask which country relies heavily on the water (Norway). You can ask what types of foods are served in Mexico. Ask them to describe the buildings seen in Japan and what people wear. The complexity and depth of the questions will of course depend on your child. As an alternative, you can also ask that they do a little report on one or more countries, incorporating what they have learned there.
Walt Disney World Epcot Center has an exhibit called the Living Seas, which explores the Earth’s water and the creatures that make it their home. Different exhibits explore these different animals. Young children can draw pictures of these seas creatures. Older ones can write reports about them.
Walt Disney World Epcot Center has different festivals throughout the year such as a garden festival and a food and wine festival. If you go during one of these special times, then you can incorporate that into your teachings. For instance, the children can bring a sketchbook and draw pictures of the different plants that they see during the garden festival.
Walt Disney World Epcot Center has many exhibits on technology and how it has affected people’s lives. For instance, the ride Spaceship Earth follows the history of inventions, communication and technology from the past to the future. When your children visit Epcot, they can write a report on how technology has affected them. You can also ask them to imagine the technology of the future by coming up with an idea for an invention on their own.
Walt Disney World Epcot Center provides many educational opportunities for homeschoolers. The above activities can help them learn in an active manner.
