Tips for Saving Money at Target
Target is a place where you can get great deals on a wide variety of products. However, if you know what to do, you can save even more. Consider the following strategies.
Look for sales
Target has a great deal of sales every week and some of these can be significant. They come out with an ad in the Sunday newspaper highlighting their savings. They will also usually post this in the area right when you walk into the store. On certain days such as Black Friday, the big shopping day the day after Thanksgiving, you can get even more deals. Sometimes their sales will be a percentage off and sometimes they will give you a free gift card with a certain purchase.
Use coupons
You will find coupons on many different products that appear at Target. They take many manufacturer’s coupons. They will also sometimes have a coupon for a free Target gift card with a new or transferred prescription.
Look for items on clearance
Target has an amazing clearance and you can even save up to 90% at times! Most of the time, they start their clearance at 30% although sometimes it is 15% and sometimes it goes straight to 50%. They will usually then discount it more as time goes on in this order: 15%, 30%, 50%, 75%, 90%. Not all make it to the 90%.
You will find many products that go on clearance. Look for the little red round clearance signs by the shelf tag. They will also often put clearance on the endcaps. After a big holiday, they will usually discount all of the holiday items the next day. You may find shelves of these items. They will also sometimes have big clearances on items like toys after the winter season and during the summer. Also, even if it says it is a certain amount off, it may be more. Sometimes the prices change before the signage does, so check the prices with the scanners they have set up throughout the store. You will also find clearance on their website and you can specifically search for things that are 75% or more off!
Get 10% discounts
Even a 10% discount can be significant. You can get this through special offers with Target’s credit card. If you shop a lot there, it may be worth it to look into that.
Shopping at Target can be very financially advantageous and the above tips can help you make the most of your experience. Combine them for even more savings.
