It can be a challenge to bring very young children to Disney World. There are different things that you will want to consider when doing so to make your trip successful and fun. The following are tips for visiting Disney World with young children.
Give yourself lots and lots of time
Moving around in Disney World can be slow with just adults. Add children to the mix and it can be much slower. The children might need to take frequent rest breaks, eating breaks or trips to the bathroom. They might just not move as quickly. You do not want to be stressed because you are trying to get too much done or putting too much pressure on yourself. Understand that things will take time and give yourself plenty of time to do everything.
Plan out your day in advance
It might be easier if you plan out your day in advance. There are a lot of attractions that are specifically suited towards young children and some that are too old or mature for them. Decide what you want to do and try to get an idea of what order you will do it. You might want to consider using the Fast Pass system, a system that allows you to make a sort of reservation to come back for a ride later in the day and advance quickly through the line. Again, make sure that you do not pack in too many items into the short span of time.
Protect your children from the sun
Those who are not familiar with Florida might not realize how strong the sun is. This is true even in the winter and when it is cloudy. It is important to protect young children’s skin. You should always cover them up with sunscreen and if you are staying the entire day, you should probably reapply. You should have them wear hats (if they will). You can even get clothing that has a SPF rating. You may want to try to do indoor things in the heart of the day and look for shade if you are outside. You can also use an umbrella.
Bring snacks
One thing that some people do not realize is that they allow you to bring foods and snacks into the park. With very young children, you might want to bring your kids’ favorite drinks and snacks in.
Bring an activity for them to do while they wait in line
You are likely to encounter many lines in Disney World, even while waiting for food! If you have very young children who will not do well with the lines, perhaps you can bring a pocket sized book or activity pages to keep them occupied while you are waiting.
Visiting Disney World with young children can be a challenge but with careful preparation it can be successful. Consider the above tips to help you on your trip.
