Having a toddler in the comfort of your own home can be difficult enough, but taking him on vacation – that can be a true challenge. Taking a toddler to Disney World is considered brave by many, however there are things that you can do to make it a wonderful and successful trip. The following are tips for visiting Disney World with a toddler.
Bring lots of food
It may be easier if you bring some of your own food for your toddler. Many little kids like to eat throughout the day, and they can be very particular about having their own comfort food. Disney World can also be pricey when you get a lot of food because it can really add up, however they are very flexible in that they allow you to bring in your own food.
Bring a comfortable stroller or plan to rent one
It can be a challenge for an adult to walk around all day much less a toddler. You will definitely want to consider bringing in your stroller. If you are coming in from out of town or do not have one, then you can rent one at the park. This can be great if your toddler wants to take a rest.
Make sure to protect your toddler from the sun
The sun is extremely strong in Florida. You can easily overheat and/or get a sunburn, even in the winter. Make sure to give your toddler plenty to drink. Also, you will want to apply sunscreen at least once and maybe twice. You can also shield your toddler from the sun in other ways such as staying under the shade, binging an umbrella, getting an extended sunshade for your stroller, staying indoors during the hottest part of the day and looking for signs of overheating. It is a sad sight when you see little children badly sunburned and you do not want your child to be in that situation.
Use the baby care center
There is a wonderful feature in the parks called the baby care center. It has things that are useful for toddlers, too. If you are still breastfeeding your toddler, then you can use a nursing room (and of course, you are welcome to nurse in any part of the park as well). They also have a place to change diapers if your toddler is still in a diaper. They also have other amenities that can be useful.
Going to Disney World with a toddler can be a challenge but it can also be a lot of fun. Consider the above tips to help you with your vacation.
