Ways to Avoid Getting Overwhelmed at Walt Disney World
Disney World can be quite overwhelming, especially for someone who is not familiar with the parks. There are different things that you can do in order to help keep yourself from getting overwhelmed, however. The following are some tips for having a calmer trip to Walt Disney World.
Plan what you want to do before you go
When you go to Walt Disney World and see the list of rides, shows and activities available you will be amazed. There is quite a lot to do and very few people could fit it into a single day. Most people would probably be able to fill up almost an entire week if you truly do everything, especially when you take into account wait times. However, most people will only have certain activities that they want to do. Different things are geared towards kids of different ages, for instance, and if you are not traveling with certain aged kids, that might take out a lot of different things. You should look through the information on the different attractions on the Internet or through guidebooks and decide what you want to do. Make sure that you are realistic in what you will have time for. Also, if there is something you need to do in advance, make sure to do it. For instance, many of the sit down restaurants fill up far before the actual day. Make sure that you make whatever reservations you need.
Give yourself enough time
You will want to give yourself enough time at Walt Disney World. Obviously, you have time constraints, but you need to assume that things are going to take a long time. You have to think about lines and crowds as well. Also, make sure that you consider any time that you might need to just rest or sit down for a little bit. Do not plan so much that you get overwhelmed needing to run from one thing to the next. You will be better off if you can truly enjoy five attractions than if you do not enjoy 10 attractions. Also, do not just assume that because the park is open from 10am-10pm (the actual hours vary by day) that you will be able to handle that amount of time. You do a lot of walking in the parks and you might get too tired to continue.
When you are there, just try to relax. Remember, it is a vacation. If you need some time to sit, then do so. There is no amount that you have to get done. As long as you are enjoying yourself, then it is a good vacation.
