: What to ask a Florist when Planning a Wedding
:
(428 Words)
You want your wedding to come alive with the beauty of nature, and a florist can help provide this. You are likely to find many vendors, and you want to find the one that is right for you and your event. The following are some questions you might consider asking.
Can they create the arrangements you desire?
Different florists will have different abilities to come up with the arrangements you want. Some might just be better at arranging flowers. Some might have an easier time finding the hard-to-find or out of season flowers. Talk to them to find out what they can do.
What are their general prices?
The prices for flowers will range greatly depending on the flowers you get. However, certain florists definitely charge more than others for the same or similar things. One way to find out is to come in with a picture of something you are interested in and get an idea of what they would charge for that. You can get some general quotes, which can help you price compare as well. Also make sure to find out about any other fees or costs.
What do they offer with delivery and setup?
Different florists offer different services when it comes to setup and delivery (and different charges for these). Most will deliver but you might be able to save if you pick up instead. Some will set up the tables. Find out when they plan on doing this on the day of the wedding.
Find out how long the flowers last and if there are any guarantees
Some people just care about the flowers lasting throughout the event. Others might want arrangements that will last a little longer so they can use them at other events after the wedding such as at a morning brunch. Decide how long the flowers last (this will obviously also depend on the flower) and whether they have any guarantees. You can also find out about what will happen if you are not happy with the flowers.
Find out about deposit, cancellation and refund policies
What happens if you need to postpone your wedding? How much do you have to give upfront? Ask all of the details about the money matters and eventualities that might occur.
Can you see some floral arrangements?
The florist might have arrangements that you can see. They should at least have ones in pictures. Make sure that you are happy with their work.
A florist should set the scene of your once-in-a-lifetime event. Consider asking the above questions when having your consultation.
