Choose a less expensive venue
Many companies hold holiday parties at very expensive places such as restaurants or country clubs. These can cost quite a bit per person, and may simply not be in the budget this year. Instead think about other places that might be cheaper. You might have a space within the company headquarters where you can have it and bring in food instead. You might be able to find a less expensive restaurant. You might be able to have it somewhere like a park, which might be a lot less money. Explore the different options that you have in order to save money.
Save money on the food
Obviously the food can be a big part of the cost of a holiday party. There are many strategies you can take. First some food dishes are often much cheaper than others such as vegetarian meals. You may not serve as great a variety this year, but if the food is good people might not even notice Perhaps you do not need as many courses or as many appetizers. Also, you may be able to save a lot of money if you get the food yourself and then hire some people to serve it. For instance, you can get appetizers and a lot of party trays at places like Costco. Also, they sell cakes at Costco that are delicious, large and very inexpensive. You may pay five times the amount at a professional baker for something that tasks as good and is as big.
Cut miscellaneous costs
Think about all of the costs of your Christmas holiday party. For instance, you may spend a lot of money on a band. A DJ can be very nice and may literally be 10% of the cost of a band. You may normally have very extravagant centerpieces for your event. Instead use less expensive items like candles with much fewer flowers. They still can be pretty but may cost a lot less. You may cut down on extras like chair covers, a professional photographer, etc.
A Christmas holiday party is about celebrating the season with your co-workers, and it can still be fantastic with scaled back expenses. The above tips may help you accomplish this.
