Many seniors pretty much have everything. They may have enough money to get the things that they want and they may not have a lot of extra space in the condo or home that they live in. So what can you get them for the 2010 Christmas holiday? Consider the following ideas.
Magazine subscription
A senior might enjoy a magazine subscription. No matter how much they already have, they obviously do not have copies of a new magazine. You can think about his or her likes or interests. There are hundreds of magazines thus there is a good chance that you will find something that they would like. Many magazine subscriptions are relatively inexpensive. In addition, most of them come every month for a year so they can feel like they are getting one gift after the next. They take up very little room, and the person can discard of them when they have finished reading them if they so choose. They may like a popular one such as People, Reader’s Digest or Glamour. You can also get them a magazine subscription such as one to the New York Times.
Trip
No matter how many trips a senior has been on he or she might still like more. Many people enjoy taking vacations again and again, and this can make the perfect gift for the senior who has everything, especially if they are retired and have a lot of time. Of course you will need to consider some things. Some seniors do have medical limitations. You want to make sure that they are healthy enough to travel and would want to do so. With this gift, it might be best to tell the person of your intentions and plan something together.
Gift of food
Of course, people always need more food. This can be a nice gift that the senior can enjoy no matter how many times he or she has enjoyed it before. Think about his or her food likes and dislikes. They sell many pre-made gift baskets with food items such as cheese, crackers, jellies , candies and more. If he or she likes something in particular then you can make your own gift basket. Be sure to pay attention to any dietary restrictions that he or she may have such as low sugar, low sodium and so forth.
Just because a senior has everything doesn’t mean that you can’t come up with a great gift. You could also hand make something like a painting, which would obviously be unique.
