It is time for those high-schoolers to go back to school, and they are likely to need many supplies. The school and/or teacher will often give out a list in advance of the year or during the first day. The following are some of the top supplies you might see.
Backpack
High school students will generally need a backpack. Many of them have grown too old for childhood character backpacks and might desire something that is plain. Some backpacks have special features such as room for a laptop if that is something that they can bring to school. Others will roll on the floor, which can be useful if they are carrying a lot of heavy textbooks. Some of them will have more pockets or be bigger than others. They should try it on to make sure that it is comfortable.
Pens/pencils/writing utensils/small supplies
Of course, high school students will need things to write with such as pens, pencils and more. They may also need things like colored pencils. They may need eraser, pencil sharpeners, stapler, paper clips, etc. They made need a specific color of pen such as black or blue. They may also need other similar supplies such as scissors or glue.
Calculator
Many high school students will need a good calculator for high school math class. Many of them will need a graphing calculator. You might want to check with their math teacher before you purchase a specific one because these can get expensive and you do not want to pick the wrong one. It may be worth it to get the more expensive one if it can really help them.
Folders
A lot of students use folders for their classes to keep papers in. They make many decorative and plain folders. Some just have pockets whereas others might have room to put other things in the middle.
Three ring binders
A lot of teachers ask that their high school students bring in three ring binders. They may keep a portfolio for their class in these. Some want it to be a specific size so you may want to find out about that before making this purchase.
Book covers
Your high school student may like book covers to cover their textbooks. This can help protect them from damage and your child being liable.
Notebooks
In many classes, the students are required to take notes in a notebook. This can help them keep everything together. Again, these come in many different sizes with wide or college rule.
Paper
Most high school students will need paper. They will often go through a lot of this so you might want to buy a big package.
