Clothing Choices for Runners

When you go running, you want to dress comfortably. You will find many different options. Some pieces are specifically made for runners whereas others are just general pieces that you may prefer.
Shirt
It is very important to get a comfortable shirt. You can buy one that is made with material that will keep you dry even if you are sweating while you are running. Under Armour is a popular maker of these. You might want something with mesh to allow air in but still provide coverage. Some people simply prefer 100% cotton.
Bra
A woman will want a comfortable and supportive sports bra. Remember that the elasticity can go bad after time so you replace as necessary. Make sure that it is not so tight that it gives you a rash.
Shorts

Socks

Pants

Jacket
If it is cold outside, then you might want a jacket to keep warm. When running in the cold, layering is a good idea because you can take off the top layers if you warm up. Look for a jacket that fits well and does not add a lot of bulk.
Undergarments
Make sure you wear the proper undergarments. Look for things that will not get too hot.
Tights
Many runners choose to wear tights under their outfits. This can be good if it is cold outside because it can keep you warm.
Tech sleeve
If you like to listen to music while you are running then you can get a tech sleeve. This looks like the sleeve of an outfit and simply pulls on to your arm. It has a pocket in it, where you can slide a piece of electronics such as a phone or a music player.
Scarf/Headband
While you are running you might want something to hold back your hair. It might be a scarf or a headband that can keep your hair from getting in your eyes. You can also tie it into a ponytail.
