Easy Childrens Meals
(419 Words)
Toddlers are notoriously picky eaters, however, you want them to consume healthy, well-balanced meals. If you are on the go, you might also need something quick and easy. The following meal ideas can please you and your child:
Pita pizza
For a much healthier version of pizza, make pita pizza. Buy individual sized pitas at the store. Whole wheat is the healthiest. Place your choice of tomato sauce on top. Add cheese (but not too much) to the top. You can add toppings if there is something that your child will eat. Put it in the microwave or the toaster oven and you can have a delicious meal in five minutes.
Easy burrito
If you want to get your child some quick protein, then make a quick and easy burrito. Get your choice or burrito, flour or taco wraps from the store. Place some beans in the middle. Baked beans are very sweet and are sure to please any toddler. You can also use black beans, refried beans or any other type you think your child will like. Sprinkle some cheddar or Mexican cheese on top of it. Add whatever else you like. If you think your child will eat vegetables like broccoli, carrots, corn or mixed vegetables, then add that to it. Wrap it up and put it into the microwave for a minute. Serve it with sour cream and/or salsa.
Mini sandwiches
Give your child his or her own array of miniature sandwiches. Use bread slices and put in different fillings such as jelly, cream cheese, peanut butter, sunflower seed butter and yellow cheese. Cut each into four little squares. You can serve an array of sandwiches so that they can try the different flavors to see what they like best.
Fruits and veggies and dip
Kids enjoy dipping. You can give them healthy fruits and veggies as a lunch with different dips to use. Offer an array of foods, such as banana slices, apple slices, miniature carrots and broccoli. Dip options include healthy hummus, low fat salad dressings and cheese dip. Use unhealthy dips sparingly. You can also blend vegetables together to make a healthy dip that the kids will enjoy.
Rice casserole
Make some instant rice. Add chopped broccoli, spinach and any other vegetables your kids like. Microwave and add in a little low fat cheese for flavor.
With creativity, you can prepare quick meals that your toddler will love. Experiment with the above recipes to find out what your child will eat and enjoy.
