A bulletin board about physical education can be a great way to get the children involved in this very important activity. The following are some ideas for creating this board.
Make a bulletin board about the importance of physical education
The children should understand why physical education is so important. It is most certainly not a punishment! You can show that people can build muscle and be healthier with good physical activity. They will often stave off many dangerous diseases and even live longer lives. You can illustrate these with pictures of happy people exercising and age-appropriate writing.
The different ways that you can exercise
Some children do not like physical education because they think that it only consists of running while your teacher barks behind you. Of course, this is far from true. There are many different ways to exercise. The kids in physical education will often play fun sports. You can show them playing a game or swimming in a pool. One fun idea is to take pictures of the kids while they are doing the sports so that you can use those to post on the bulletin board. They may get a kick out of seeing their own pictures up on the bulletin board.
Get the children involved
You want the kids to think about the different ways that they can enjoy physical education. For instance, you can have them make drawings of how they like to exercise. Even playing an active game of catch in the playground can be great exercise, which a lot of kids might not realize. You can then post these pictures up as part of your bulletin board. If they are older they can write little reports.
You can make the bulletin board interactive
You can put hanging index cards with a question on one side and an answer on the other. These can all pertain to physical education such as “Why is physical education so important?” and “How often should you exercise?” You can also have two rows of items that the students must match such as a column of sports on one side with their descriptions on the other side. You can stand at the bulletin board while doing your lesson.
You want the children to understand that physical education is extremely important. So much emphasis is now on the other subjects while many people are sabotaging their lives because of unhealthy lifestyles and a lack of exercise. A bulletin board like those described above can get the children interested now.
